Bedford Main Street Awards Two for Building Improvements
BEDFORD – Bedford Main Street presented two beautification awards at the Bedford Town Council meeting yesterday. Awards were given to Bill Mosely and Proprietors Group of Bedford for improvements to the façade at 124 N. Bridge Street; and to Houston Crum and Bedford Christian Ministries for improvements to the façade at 217 W. Washington Street.
“Façade improvement is a vital component of rehabilitating an historic district,” Bryan Schley, chairman of the Bedford Main Street Design Committee said. “Many of our buildings are historically significant and when an owner chooses to honor that history by making these kinds of façade improvements, we want to honor them and their commitment to the vitality of Centertown.”
The Design Committee of Bedford Main Street gives these awards to owners who invest in rehabilitation of their properties and adding to the beautification of the Centertown Bedford area. The committee is committed to working with property owners to follow historical preservation guidelines and can assist them with façade development through an on-going partnership with Frazier Associates, one the nation’s leading historic district architecture firms. Anyone who owns or manages space in the Bedford Main Street district and who conducts historical preservation and rehabilitation to their space is eligible for the award. To nominate a property owner/manager, contact the Bedford Main Street office at 540-586-2148 or email@example.com.
