Bedford Main Street Recognizes The Elks Lodge #2844
BEDFORD – Bedford Main Street awarded its June Beautification Award to The Elks Lodge, located at 134 W. Main Street. The designation recognizes the Center for the renovation of the building and adding to the beautification of the Centertown Bedford area.
The Design Committee of Bedford Main Street choose candidates for each monthly award, which recognizes investments in renovations to buildings and outdoor spaces in the historic Centertown area.
“The Elks have done tremendous work to rehabilitate their building and make it a valuable commercial property in the Centertown district ,” Bryan Schley, chairman of the Design Committee said.
Anyone who owns or manages space in the Bedford Main Street district and who conducts renovation, rehabilitation, and/or beautification to their space is eligible for the award. Awards are presented monthly at Bedford Town Council meetings. To nominate a property owner/manager, contact the Bedford Main Street office at 540-586-2148 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Bedford has been a designated Main Street Community since 1985. Bedford Main Street works to re-energize economic development of our Centertown district while utilizing our cultural assets and character. This is further accomplished by pooling the resources of local civic and business leaders who are determined to bring our Main Street community back to life. The innovative Four-Point Approach © program uses design, promotion, economic vitality and organization to reach our goal to help us all build a better community. Bedford Main Street is one of 25 designated communities throughout Virginia.
